I finished my mom's shawl tonight! :D It is about 4 and a 1/2 in length (in the photo I folded it in half).
I just came up with the 'pattern' as I went along. I do however wish it was longer and a bit wider... but I casted on length wise so I couldn't change much of that as I knitted towards the end. So win some lose some... I think she will like it. It is her favorite color so I have that in my favor. ;)
Time to go start another project.... or wait... can it be.. work on some sock knitting! Oh it has been so long! xD I am at the heel portion of the socks... oh that is the 'exciting' part. xD

fin the shawl
Xmas => New Year?
I swear the holiday season always have me baffled and confused... but that's its own thing.
Christmas... nothing major happened, went and saw family. So that was nice.
New Years? Not much going to happen. I know I am going to finish my mother's shawl today so that is excited. Now I am getting nervous that it is not long enough... so we will see. Hopefully.
Um. Oh Andrew and Adrienne got their scarves yesterday! xD So that was excited they called me on speakerphone last night and it was so nice to hear from them! :) They loved their scarves and were like 'you should sell them etc' lol.
I do however have another gift project that I need to do soon... my friend (and Jimmy's) Jon in Seattle. He is to get two gifts. a Dark blue neckwarmer and a Black palindrome scarf! :D I asked him what colors he likes to wear and he told me he has a dark blue and white cashmere scarf and he would like a dark blue and black scarf.... um yeah no I like the 1 colored scarves really. So hence the two items. Everyone I think needs a black scarf. ;D Then the dark blue neckwarmer will be nice... and shorter to do. xD I've never done one so I need to figure out what info I need.
So I need to dash to Micheals and buy a half ton of yarn for gifts etc. I should look at patterns I like and what would be a good yarn option. :D Oh Ravelry how I love thee. ;D

I am sick~
Yep I have a cold...
Stuffy nose, congestion the whole nine yards.
Which is alright... what do I have to do really during winter break?! Nada~ ;D More reason to stay in bed and finish reading "The Friday Night Knitting Club"! ;D I am already at Chapter 10. I cannot wait to read the second one. :D
All is ok. Got my complete grades for the semester 4 A's and 1 B (I was intentionally lazy and hence the grade, I 'earned' that B)
Ummm... what else to talk about... Not much really.
Back to knitting and watching House! ;D

What I did today
I drove around town all morning long! ;D
With my parents of course, which caused some yelling from both of us (nothing bad lol we are just a loud family).
But I drove for us to get breakfast (at the super fancy mcdonalds) lol, to vons (same parking lot), then to target (which isn't that far, but I took the scenic route by my old high school) and then the scenic route back home. :D
Nothing bad happened, no close calls. My parents pin-pointed on things I need to look at and focus on as a whole that will come with experience and more practice. :D
So I took this photo when I was in the car waiting for my parents while they were in vons! xD I am so happy, its ridiculous. I just loved the idea of, oh I'll wait in my car. lol
I also reorganized my entire closet! ;D Which is nice. I have a shelf in there now.... and was able to put my basket of yarn in it... so hopefully I will have less digging of Socks trying to get a skein here and there.
Back to knitting my mom's shawl. I am about 55% done with it. I will post a photo of it when it is done. :)

Christmas decor
So this is as 'christmas-y' as we get. :D
I found the lights in the garage in a small box when I was digging for blankets (it is getting colder at night).
We had found our 'tree chicken' at a thrift store earlier this fall and since it is a tea light candle holder, we have this little led bulb that fits perfectly.
I left the lights on for like an hour tonight and unpluged them... lol electricity~~~~~~
If you didn't notice, we have a 'chicken collection' lol It started with the two center chickens on the top when I was younger. Then when we moved to this house and had chickens 'live with us' my dad and mom have had a fun collection growing of chicken stuff.
---
My Christmas knitting is so not going to be finished... but you know what, I sent out Andrew and Adrienne's scarves the other day... and the rsest is for my mom. Socks and a shawl, Iam half way done with the shawl.
So I am pleased with the outcome. :)

End of Falling For Ewe Autumn Yarn Swap
This package is absolutely fantastic!
There is so much stuff! Where to begin?!
Let's start with the yarn:
4 balls of Knit Picks Twist yarn (novelty). (which is perfect because I was just thinking of getting some more, for cat toys and cutesy things :D)
1 hank of Berroco Ultra Alpaca in a beautiful deep red (which I adore the color and alpaca is seriously soft!)
Then the other goodies:
A thermos!!! (which I am loving to use since the weather is getting colder!), two delicious packets of hot chocolate mix! (French Vanilla and Mint~ xD Yum), some gummies! (teddy bears, which are opened and being munched on as I type and a cola/soda gummy, which looks appealing), beautiful deep red notecards (I love notecards!), and a magnetic beautiful list sheet (which I need to start using right away!).
Now my two favorite things among these goodies are the
FELTED CAT PURSE! xD Absolutely adorable! I love it! It is nice and roomy too, plus its a black cat... hmm I think I have two of those type of cats already. (black cats). xD So that was such a wonderful surprise in all my stuff.
Then another goodie that I found was hidden among the items... a stamp from Denmark! :D
Which is so amazing, I put it in a plastic container to keep it safe. I am half Danish (and half Mexican) so to have a stamp from Denmark is a dream, I've always wanted to go to Denmark. So I absolutely adore this little gift! <3
This was such a great start to Winter break for me! :D I need to use these lovely yarns! Now that I am done with my xmas knitting. :D Thank you so much Valerie I have adored all your gifts, and especially the hand made ones. :D

Norwegian Purl!
I can make videos!!! :D And put them on youtube! :D
About Norwegian purling (my knitting method)! :D
Fun stuff~ Plus Duo made a guest appearance in it too!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DkwcejowiI
Plus!!! :D
I finished Andrew's and Adrianne's scarves! ^^*
If you want to see the other photos, they are on my ravelry page.

Yarn Cake Love!
Finally Proof of my ball winder! xD I LOVE IT~
This is Knit Picks Pallette yarn, in Marine Heather. (nice name in my opinion ;p)
This is going to be my mother's sock. She is 'always' cold... so her feet will totally love some wool socks mostly around the house.
Plus I usually cast on with dpns to join the sock.. and then switch to magic loop. I <3 the harmony dpns they are soooo nice, plus they are sooo pretty! ;D
Time to continue on Andrew's scarf... I need to get this scarf down this week! So I am going to listen to some audio books (Pride and Prejudice) and zone out in some lovely knitting.

'Fish' toy
k1, originally uploaded by hsailormoon.
So I made this 'fish' toy for Socks last night.
I've done some knitting. This is used up from some Vanna's Choice Burgundy color, from Adrianne's scarf.
It is larger then the previous toy pattern I've done before. I really did not follow a pattern at all. I was thinking of making a stuffed kick toy for her, but then realized that she wouldn't be able to carry it around easily, so I did the 'fish' shaping.
It is so large for her! It's absolutely adorable! Now if I could only find it to show my Mom and take more photos of it being played with....... but Socks has 'hid' it. Just like half of her other toys. xP Ah well.
I guess that is it for now. :)

I <3 my ball winder!
It came a whole day early! ;D I absolutely adore it. I have re-wound skeins of yarn into cakes~ and oh they are so lovely. I have wound balls of vanna's choice yarn I have left over and sock yarn into cakes!
I need to finish Andrew's scarf soon... because 1) I am getting sick of it and 2) I am going to need to mail it out. So yeah. I just want to knit socks and other projects, like with my new sugars n cream yarn! ;D
- - -
This is a mini post, mostly because I am finally relaxing because....
I AM DONE FOR THE SEMESTER!!! :D Hellooooooo Winter Break! ;D Time to play WoW and do tons of fun knitting projects! :D I am so excited.
- - -
Plus Jimmy found this cutie and wants me to knit it for him... only issue it is in a UK magazine... so maybe I can find it at Borders or what not. xDhttp://kotaku.com/5105553/sackboy-pattern-in-uks-leading-knitting-magazine
That would be fun to make. Plus it is knitting not crocheting like the other 'geek' items he has 'wanted'. :D Hopefully I can find the magazine issue, because I would rather have a magazine in the end verses just a single pattern (which apparently is online soon).
Time to go. :D

Ball winder! Oh my!
A YARN BALL WINDER!! XDDDD
http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2074&PRODID=prd20753
It's from Joann's... I am not sure if it is a Royal brand. However allllllllllllllllllllllll the reviews are great for this.
It also helps that I had a 50% off coupon for this! ;D So it came to 25 bucks and 7 for shipping... 33 dollars total.
I am excited to get it, it says 5-10 business days.
- - -
Yesterday I went to Lane Bryant for clothes shopping with my mom, my dad, and Jimmy! xD My dad wandered around the stores, while my mom and I shopped together, and Jimmy looked around and came with my mom and me for the most of the time. xD (Thank goodness he has his iphone lol to keep him entertained, now if only I could teach him to knit instead lol jk jk)
We bought 500 dollars worth of clothing~ and only spent 178! xDDD Sooo great. It was a buy one get one free sale, plus a 10 dollar texting coupon I had, and then 15% for applying for a card. xD Such a great deal.
I also got a new target lamp~ it is sooo pretty 5 lamps, one pole and it is pink, light pink, off white pink, white, and a light brown lamps~ xD Sooo pretty. Now I will have even more light in my room! xD Amazing. It was at the Goodwill, lol seriously. They have BRAND NEW Target stuff!!!! When Target pennies out stuff they give it to the goodwill~ xD lol I even bought pretty new nice condition American Eagle flats lol.
Then I am able to buy a ball winder~ ah so great!
- - -
I also have a hugeeeeeeeeeeee Sears bag filled with gifts for the school donation by the front to bring to school on Monday. Classes register on Monday, I am staying up till midnight on Sunday to get my classes asap. Monday is my dad's 60th birthday~ xD
Also I went through my clothes... and got rid of TWO HUGE sears bags of clothing... at least 100 articles of clothing, at least that many. It feels good to get rid of clothes that I no longer wear and no longer fit... haha I am doing 'spring cleaning' in winter~ xP Slowly I am going to re-arrange my room to fit better all around. It is still massively clutted... and I need to organize a lot of it. <3><;;;;;;
Oh and then I got cute shoes! xD Plus two flats (American Eagle, and a pair at sears) that I can show off my pretty knitted socks~ xD Then Jimmy bought me some Victoria Secrets lotion~ xDD Yum~ and then an American Eagle Outfitters Jacket~ xD Oh we are so trendy lol.
It's purple and oh so comfy~ it is for me to wear when I miss him this winter vacation~ awwwww ;) <3 I will miss him but I know he will have a lot of fun visiting his family and sisters.

Crocheting Turky Day
I can crochet too!! ;D
I went to Jimmy's Aunts House today for Thanksgiving. :D It was a great evening.
I spent the morning with my family at home just chilling.
My parents got new cell phones last night (with my help of course, Samsung M220 for each of them) and my parents LOVE their cell phones... so they are now excited to use the more, because mainly they are able to understand how to use them easier.
So my mom found her 'headset/earpiece' that can work with her phone (2.5mm) and asked if I can 'whip her up' a case for it, for her car so she could find it and use it easier while driving.
So I instantly thought, oo I can knit it... no better yet crocheting gives me more chance to customize it easier and quicker. :D Plus I had bought the "Taught myself to crochet kit" at Micheals, so I had a new set of crochet hooks to use. ;D
I am done with the pouch part, now I just need to do the flap.
My mom and I are going to Lane Bryant tomorrow afternoon and we are going to pick up Jimmy, because he wants to check out the mall just for fun. xD
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Cannot focus
... Yet again.
I have homework to do... that is stupid easy... I woke up early... and made lunch, snacks, and got presents to donate for beta gamma phi... but did not sit and do my homework!
Heck I even sat in bed and worked on the newly started scarf, for my friend Andrew. Its Vanna's Choice in Olive... however the thickness of the yarn I used for Andrianne's scarf (in same yarn but in Burgundy) is different!?!?! O.o; Andrew's is thinner.... or something... I dunno. I am going to wash Andrianne's scarf and such to see if it will lose-en it up and make it a bit softer. So we will see.
- - -
I don't want to do my reading, marginalia, notes, and then representative letter~~~~ I just do not want to do any of the homework. u.u; I am such a baby.
My brain is all scrambled. ttyl.<3

smoothie
Me and my smoothie are going to destress for awhile.
I just finished my call (about oh 20 mins ago, I had to go buy the smoothie) with my store at Best Buy.... calling in my resignation.
It sounds so fancy and polite, to resign from the position... which is true. I wish to leave it.
So after dinner with my parents and Jimmy... my mom is going to drop me off at BBY for me to sign the documents of my resignation.
Ironically... the manager that took my call was the same manager that gave me my first interview. Both new things in my world and both very stressful... but after it is done... I feel better about it. (just a bit stressed lol)
But if I am going to get into the credential program I need to take student teaching classes in the spring.... plus I REALLLYYYY want to do this internship with Lois Capps... this opportunity does not come around often... retail not so much.
-Am I still going to shop at Best Buy?! I dunno. Jimmy and Alex think its silly that I feel awkward in going to the store... but I hope... soon I can go back. Because I have to go back to upgrade my parents cell phones probably in the next month. Oi.
I will post of my lovely yarn swap pacakge~ I posted photos up on the swap forums... and the photos are on my flickr account if wanting to check.
Right now I need to go curl up and read my knitting novel and go away for awhile. Plus.. I have 20 minutes before I have to leave to catch the bus.

Sock Knitting Fixes Brain
My brain is dead... yet again. Sad but true. It died half way through my English class.
I did catch up 3 weeks worth of material for that class... and fixed my journal and everything... and I was part of the group that got called today. So good deal! I am happy that I got everything done.
But when one thing is finished... more stuff is soon due.
Two more weeks of classes... then finals week! o.o; So close yet to far.
This photo is a wip of my sock that I finished. I am working on the leg at the moment of the second sock! xD I love how the stripes match! (I had to pull out some yarn for a bit, because I started in an 'in between' color stripe, so I could match it up properly.)
- - -
I've been toying with the idea of working as an intern for Lois Capps office (our congress women for our district 23rd district)... and I am going to do it... it will give me something to do during the winter and possibly summer, heck maybe even during the spring semester, depending on my new schedule then. I need to email Vanessa... but I left her card at home and I need to work on the 'political' side of my resume (ie page 2).
My dream job would to be working in the White House.... but what about Teacher?! lol... Teaching will always be there. But working in the White house... how cool is that. I've always enjoyed politics... but I know what it entitles to be a political candidate... and eh... I like behind the scenes a bit better. But then why not be a poli-sci major?! Because I do want to be a teacher too.
Plus an added bonus with this Internship... the office is right across the street from the Navy Base my mom works at... so dropping off and picking up would be a breeze. xD (Driving has yet to be a priority still. Hmm... my permit expires March 09... maybe I should look into a bit more practice eh. ;P)
Ok I have to get going. Bye <3

The Lunch that should have been.
Soooooo sad!
So I made Mac and Cheese for Alex and I for dinner last night. (mostly because he wined and asked me to make it ;p)
Then my parents came home with Jack in the Box sampler thing.
So then I thought 'oh I have to put the food away.... which container.... oh wait! I can make a lunch for tomorrow!!!!'
I throw the food in a cute little container, pack the fried goodies in with the mac and cheese.... and am super excited.... about having a cute 'bento' type lunch. (I even bought a 'bento' box from AX during the summer.)
BUT THEN I FORGOT THE LUNCH TODAY!!! It is at home in the fridge... all nice and cute. I am sooooo sad.
Now I am super hungry. Just thinking about it.... however I bought a big hot pocket from the book store this morning.... mmmm I am hungry.... I wasn't hungry when I got into class... I need to go run and go cook it.
I just miss my cute lunch at home. :( Hopefully Alex does not find it... >.>; and eat it. lol

Brain => Destress
I bought expennnnssssiiivvveee coffee from the coffee shop Element in the Library. $3.50!!!! Geez. However I saw the new smoothie/yogurt shop (along with the ever so yummy and cheap Subway) and the smoothies are like $4.15!! for 20oz!!!! then $5.15!!! for the like slurpiee size cup! Such price gouging! So so sad. I still have that other half of the subway in my purse.... hmmm... hello dinner? or lunch tomorrow.
I bought the coffee because I sooo needed to de-stress after my psy class. However the stress was much before the psy class.
Oh Socks, poor poor kitten Socks. She being the curious dare-devil she is... went into our neighbors yard (haha I typed yarn lol) where they have two big friendly (but to a small kitten, friendly is more like deadly) female dogs. Well.... Socks GOT STUCK IN A TREE! In the neighbors yard. She was missing all day yesterday (because if she is super hyper we will let her out to run around and burn off that energy, plus she gets annoying when she is so hyper and so we encourage her to chase the chickens or something) and was not home by when it got dark. So we were allll worried. :(
Then I was getting ready for bed when my mom told me she heard a cat screech and low and behold I run outside (for like the 5th time that night) with a flashlight and I see the dogs scratching at their tree next to our fence..... I call Alex and my dad to help me look in the tree (it was super dark at that time, like 10pm). Then Alex see's her!!!! She is wayy up top in the middle of the tree. :( We only saw the reflection of her eyes. Plus I had put her collar on that morning with its cute little bell... and so if she wanted to make a quite quick get away from the dogs... that was not going to happen. (I felt guilty omg)
We all decide there is nothing we could do to get her down, other then just let her stay up there (there were lots of leafs and branches so she was not going to fall of a branch, she was inside close to the trunk) for the night and hope that either the dogs will go to bed far away from the tree and she can get down later (there was the male boy kitten, who is a stray of the neighborhood who is Sock's male friend that was in the tree with her so we kinda felt safe that she was not alone). But if she did not get down by morning Alex and I would go to our neighbors and ask them to hold the dogs for a bit while we get her down. (even though we don't know the neighbors o.o;)
I wake up... at 1:30am... check to see if Alex or my Dad got her down while I slept... no Socks inside. So I go outside (where it is coldddd) with a flashlight to see if I could find her in the tree....and I couldn't see her. So I thought maybe she is out of the tree and sleeping somewhere to keep warm tonight (or with the male kitten). But then as I am barely dozing off at 2:30am Alex comes knocking at my door and HE HAS SOCKS!!!!!!!! xDDDD Our KITTEN!!! She was alive!!!!! Safe!! Warm!!! Purring!!!! Cute!!!!!
Alex went out with a flash light after I gave up with out me knowing and saw her and 'helped' her down with his flashlight (so she could see where she was stepping) down the tree and he was worried because she was making a lot of noise with the collar/bell and the leafs falling... and she kinda fell out of the tree towards the bottom onto the floor. Luckly the dogs were knocked out cold somewhere else, so Socks came under the fence and straight to Alex to pick up. He said she was fluffed up when he picked her up and by the time he got to my room and I was able to hold her she was warm enough and a-ok! Thank goodness!!!! The poor kitten. We seriously hope she learned her lesson! Do not go in that yard! Plus we are getting her spayed on Wednesday next week... so hopefully that will curb her 'exploring side' a bit. I am not looking forward to her recuperating
- - -
Ok have to go catch the bus now~ <3 enough rambling.
But the coffee was good, Vanilla latte... with two splendas. yum.

Knitting update
So this scarf is for my friend Andrew's girlfriend. They were the couple that moved to the East Coast this past month. I miss them but am happy that things are progressing for them with this move. <3 I am also planning on making Andrew a scarf (in a (dark) green, his fave color). So this is Adrienne's scarf. It's Vanna's Choice yarn in color way Burgundy. The color does not show well in this photo, but I like the photo.
Then I am at the point of Jimmy's socks that I need to get his feet one last time to make sure they are the correct length in the foot. :D I knitted both socks to the same point of the foot (even down to the row of sts I used a row counter lol)
So I decided I want to start another pair of socks. As since I have not been buying yarn as of late, due to my slurges a few months ago... I've been dying to get into my sock yarn stash! xD Even though I am at the foot of my second woolie sock (reference my ravelry, hsailormoon) I wanted to start another pair. xD
I am using the Red Heart: Heart & Sole in color way Razzle Dazzle. Super fun and cute.
Then a close up of the sock yarn and colors!!! So pretty and vibrant! xD I am so thrilled that these big yarn companies are going into decent sock yarn (plus the are superwash of course! xD)
I just love the bright colors. Plus normally I am not a fan of the orange... but the pinks and greens make up for it, even the stripes of blue! xD I am becoming a fan of these self striping yarns! :D
- -
I am currently working on Adrienne's scarf and knitting these socks while watching Lisa Williams show. xD Good stuff.
But I am also installing WoW and the expansion on Alex's laptop.... because I am going to go raid again tonight on WoW... and I know that my lovely small laptop can play and handle WoW... but I don' want it to lag when I am healing. So I am barrowing Alex's computer tonight, while he uses his amazing desktop xD
Back to my sock knitting. I adore how the colors come out. :D These are going to be some fun socks to wear! ;D

Exhausted
Plus Hungry!
So I just had 1 class today. My English class and my group went last. No biggy. However all the other presentations TOOK FOREVER not in a bad way, they actually had outstanding activities and some were a lot of fun. Also in comparison to our presentation, hah! there was no comparison. These presentations had tons of hand outs, directions, relation to their text, some made board games, using different languages, scavenger hunts, etc. They were impressive. Our's was rather simple... and when comparing, kinda dull to theirs.
However, with all the other presentations taking forever, we only had 20 minutes (the allowed time *ahem*) to do our presentation, before the class was over. So even though we were limited to time exactly, we knew from the beginning we were not going to go over it. So we do our 'activities' to convey our points and are done.
Except one group, bailens group *grumble grumble* somehow did not understand the directions, and had to 'make it known' on their turn that the directions were not 'clear' *my ass* and yet still did the required response correctly. Yeah. Rip our group a new one... even without comment cards. Nice. Yet everyone understood it clearly. Right. Whatever. The other presentations blew theirs out of the water anyways. Their presentation only made sense to me because Heather (the other Heather lol) gave lots of examples that it clicked. Otherwise I was lost. What-ev. lol
Moving on. I am exhausted (mentally) with all these presentations being so 'active'. That I do not want to even bother with homework. Yet I know I have my Psy homework due tomorrow. Stupid crap, in moving everything around. ugh.
Also I am hungry. But we are going to the Volante thing... and there is hope (hopefully ><:) that there will be food. *crosses fingers* I am attacking that snack area like no tomorrow.
I want to sleeeeepp... and skip the psy class. Because then I have to talk to my team mates in planing our presentation for THAT class... in two weeks. ugh.
Homework in AM
This is how I do my homework~ or how I would love to do it each day.
Have Ravelry opened up, looking at my knitted goods~ xD With coffee in my pretty thermos and some yummy vanilla creme cookies. My dad would be proud, I bought a large black coffee (for $2!! Dx) and just added cream and sugar. It is decent.
I finished my English homework, that was in front of me. Which is great. I met with my classmate to talk over a few details for our presentation today (at noon). It should go well. I prefer going off the cuff and with this group we work well together doing such.
Knitting~ <3 I finished the baby blanket! However, the mother that I was going to give it to... I just cannot stand what she says now. I feel sad for her son (the mom is my age, one day older) to have to deal with his mom when he gets older. What she says and does now is just not fair. Especially to the babies father. They were 'together' and yet she broke up with him, because he gets her so 'pissed' etc. It's just so sad really, I feel bad for the guy, he never asked for this, especially to be treated like this. Now I know it is not an easy picnic for her either, being a mom at this age, but 'she wanted it' so like... ugh. There are just better ways to deal with a situation like this, being young, not married (she at least had the <3 of the guy through all of this), with a child. I've seen it growing up with my cousins having kids under the age of 18. It's tough, no matter how you go about it, but there are just 'easier' ways to handle it.
I asked my mom if she knew anyone that had a baby boy (since it is orange) at work. But then she suggested that I give to our church, which has a program called Tender Life, which is aid to mothers with babies that are alone etc and go to the church for help. They would appreciate it. Plus it being orange, it is themed for the season. I am just happy that it will go to someone who appreciates it. :D
Which reminds me, I need to send out my other charity knitting. xD lol I've had it put away for awhile now lol.
I was thinking of doing other homework before class... but opted not to, because I would need to check out a text book, and once I get settled to start, I will have to pack up and leave soon after to go to class. So blogging was a good alternative.
-
Today Jimmy, My mom, My Dad, and I are going to a Volante campaign social thingy (ie free munchies hopefully) today after school/work. Hopefully it will go well and Jimmy will not get attacked by old ladies wanting a nerd. I mentioned to him that "We should get you some paper for this even for you to write your info on. Because once those old ladies find out your a nerd and friendly, they will swarm to you like..... old ladies to.... sweaters." God it was a dumb joke! xD
Time to pack up soon, Have to get in the presentation mode. ;D

Audio Books are amazing
So I've discovered the wonders of audio books! I have always wanted to get more into it as time went by (and the tons of podcasts I had kept decreasing) but never wanted to dish out the $60 dollars or so at the book store! (Seriously, that $60 could be yarn! xD)
Then I discovered libiovox.com. Amazing. So what is great is that they also can give you small links to listen online of the audio of the book, before you download the entire thing. So I decided I want to 'read' Pride and Prejudice. There were three readers I could choose from! I chose the third person Karen S or something. So I did this yesterday.. and I am already on chapter 15! Amazing! xD Granted there are over 60 chapters, but still... one night I was able to knit tons and 'read' a book too! So great.
I already downloaded Sense and Sensibility and um Jane Eyre. Which is exciting! I've wanted to read these classics... and now I can! While getting my knitting done too! Two loves at a time!
- -
About the photo... I was knitting and listening to my audio book... and wanted to take a photo of the new bottle sock I've made for my water bottle. (My mom took my other one this past weekend, but I have it back now, I just need to wash it, soda got on it) But Socks was in my room this morning and wanted to be in the photo! So she jumped on my desk and put her face right into my hands (and camera). It was super cute.
Now if only I could teach my cats to knit... could you imagine how many blankets we would have around the house! xD Slave labor Cats! xD Make them earn their cat food and treats! ;D lol

School related
So this photo does not exactly relate to what I did today... but close enough.
I had to meet with my classmate Cindy today, to discuss our science teaching presentation. We chose to do the Cali State Standard Grade 3 "2a- Students know sunlight can be blocked to create shadows." Simple enough right?! Well it is and I am happy about that.
Cindy and I are going to set up a huge lamp and have it create shadows in the classroom on the projection board etc. So it will be fun, and the write up (ie lesson plan) will be simple and not difficult to create. Lesson plans use to make me go 'omg' in planning stuff out, now it is just like an outline (with a few added requirements).
She is a burst of energy and ideas, it's cute. I enjoy working with her with this class. :D
- - -
So we met at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (its big on the west coast, another type of starbucks, but yummier in my opinion xD) today and 3:30pm and it is now 4:30pm and we finished up in an hour. It went well. Plus I get to drink a yummy Strawberry Yogurt Ice-blended. Win win.
- - -
Today went alright. This week should be better I hope. I have a lot of stuff to plan and worth with/through related to school. Also group projects. u.u; I don't mind working with people, it is the planning and work to get together that is frustrating. But once that is done, it is smooth sailing.
It is getting cold. I should head home soon. Then I can curl up with my CSUCI sweatshirts (I wore it all day at home today, it is so comfy!) and my wrist warmers! xD So cute in pink!! I also have other homework to get done. Like my Child Development class (which is in the photo, I took this while in class last week, that bind is a 3" inch binder and it is full of material for this class that she has us buy for the class, plus the text book! Crazy in the amount of material for this class, but hey I am learning stuff! So that is what counts!) and finishing up my Science written homework.
<3 bye

Elections Training
Elections Training is SUPER BORING. Granted that this is the what, 6th or 7th time I've done elections.
We (My mom, dad, and I) go to this each time we can, because they give us monies~~~~~ to go... plus the inspectors (my dad and myself) are required to attend these for each election.
So yeah... just like last time... I brought my knitting! xD
Made some decent progress on my wool sock... I started it last night for about 20 minutes... and am about 2 inches into the leg.
The training was boring... and omg they overcomplicated things, which confused new people and ugh... it just seems to get worse and worse. Then when my mom makes a suggestion (which is lagit, because we've learned over the years of what works and such), they treat her poorly and ignore what she says... which they do to everyone. So then my mother gets pissed/hurt half way through this (lunch break) because she takes it personally. Where as my dad and I are just annoyed because we've hated these people that run this for years. (Also my dad worked with the elections too, and the head chick talked so much crap about my dad that they did not hire him... when he did a lot of work and such.... so lame, Judith is dumb anyways).
Ok rambling.
Then afterwards, we went to school (CSUCI) and checked out the fiber event thing... and as I had worried, by the time I got there 3pm... they were closing up everything and packing stuff away. :( So that was a bust... and a bummer too.
However, I was able to come home earlier and play WoW with Jimmy and the guild and what not. So that was enjoyable.
I am just tired now... there is drama with my family and I about me not wanting to go back to work, at Best Buy. I am getting to the point that I just do not care anymore... because I am not going back... period the end. I wanted to quit 6 months ago and was turning in my two weeks... and they offered me the extension as an offer if I wanted to come back... and I still do not want to come back. Simple as that.
No more rambling for the night. I am going to knit a bit and then go to bed.

Blanket in progress
I don't have much to blog about right now, I just wanted to post a lovely photo.
I've been working on this blanket any chance I get at home~.
It's getting sooo big!

DN2
I can spell Canada. I tried to go back and change that, but after 3 times of having the html be wrong and it deleting half of my post, I gave up and left it as it was.
- - -
I did however have another great evening. I saw Death Note II tonight with Jimmy. :D It was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed the movies (the first Death Note, and L Saves the World side story). I like how well they clicked with each other... very well done. :D
I wish there were more hours in the day... there is so much stuff I wanttttt to do... but am always so tired at the end of the day, where sleep wins. ;P
Knitting is going well... working on the baby blanket for Amber. I am half way through the 4th skein and have the last one (the 5th) to finish using and I am done! :D I know that the blanket is huge for the baby (he is less then a year old)... but hopefully they will all like it enough for him to keep as he gets older and what not. xD I hope. Regardless I have had so much fun knitting it and really am pleased with the end result.
- - -
Tomorrow I have the Credential meeting at CSUCI and then meeting with a classmate at Coffee Bean to meet up for working on our presentation two weeks from Monday. Fun stuff.
Time for sleep~ ;D Now if I could only find Duo.

Mail <3's me
There was a sale at the book store of crewneck sweatshirts~ So Jimmy and I bought two... one gray and red for each of us (came out to $30, which is a steal when zip up hoodies are above $60!).
Then I come home today to a package from Canadia (joke) Canda! My free sock knitting book!!! :D
Book <3! CSUCI! lol xD
I adore it of course! It is filled with beautiful and informative photos! Plus half of the materials used (ie needles/yarn) I use too! Like the knit picks circs and everything! So that is an extra perk, also it was signed too~ :) I feel so honored and lucky in winning that drawning~ Thank you Laura! (cosmicpluto).
I go to dinner with my parents. Come home, cold wishing I had bought my new sweatshirt. (It has been warm during the day and dusty due to the fires... there was one kinda close to the school, that closed the PCH (Highway 1) today, which is about 10 minutes away from the campus.)
Then we cannot find Socks (the young kitten) in the yard and it is dark. So Alex and I are walking around the front and back yard calling Socks, shaking kitty treats (and Faye comes to get some of course) and the UPS guy comes up to the gate and has my Falling for Ewe Yarn swap!!! :DDDD I had talked to swappie about that I should expect it today... and it did come! :D
So fun. Here are the lovely photos. It came with awesome Heathered Cascade 220 yarn! Plus a lovely coffee mug (I always <3 those), with two packets of orange hot chocolate (yum and interesting), some lovely candles (and I was just looking for some last night too), a beautiful card (which is going on my wall of cards!), some halloween candy (which some are too interesting where I have to try them!), plus some TWIZZLERS!! (steal my heard why don't you! ;D), and last but not least an ADORABLE kittnen halloween snow globe dressed as a bat (which is Faye completely, she bites all year round lol, now I just need to make her some wings lol)
Overall it is a lovely themed Halloween swap package and they are all stuff I love and have cute twists on them! Plus the Cascade 22o heathered, I had eyed this type of yarn at my lys and wondered when I would buy some one day! ;D
So today, was fantastic. :) I am very happy. Time to munch on some twizzlers now~.... after I beat up Socks for a bit.... Ah she is attacking my Twizzlers! lol ;D Thank you everyone! :D

Blizzcon 08!
So I am back from Blizzcon! xD
Yes~ I did bring my sock knitting. I did a lot of it in the car ride there (darn LA traffic)... I started and finished the heel flap, turned the heel, and started the gusset. So this is the product of mostly the Thursday. I had just finished the gusset decreases at this point and oi I do not like doing that by magic loop.... maybe I am doing it wrong. I came up with my own method of it and it was frustrating to do in line.
However, it worked out and I was starting the foot at this point. Before the opening ceremonies or a panel, I forget which. :D
For day 2 of Blizzcon I just put this sock off the needles (and a thread of the yarn to hold the sts) because I did not want to get tons of knitting done on the sock, to where it would be too long for Jimmy's foot. (Since this is the first sock I've made him.) So I had started the cuff for day 2 and did not even finish it. Day 2 was a lot more eventful with doing stuff, more then sitting around during the awesome panels! :D
I have home photos and stories and such later. I have homework to finish right now (due tomorrow as always oi).
If you want to look at the set of the photos, check my flicker account, by clicking this photo. :D Bye

Jimmy's Socks
So this is a photo of Jimmy's socks, in progress. Via the ever so lovely Magic Loop Method. So far I have yet to check anything online to 'figure out how' to do something. Working on the two circular needles helped a lot. I really like the knit picks cable needles. I have yet to bust out the harmony ones I bought also. The cable is sooo flexible, it's really nice.
Today I got in lots of knitting, while in class~~ amazing. My science class I pulled it out and knitted and paid attention and my teacher did not seem to mind. :) Then in my psy class we watched this supperrr long video that I had watched in my other psy class on monday. So I finished the cuff in science, and did the beginning of the leg in psy today.
The yarn and color are soooo pretty. I like it. :D I will have to keep in mind to do a pretty pattern that will show up nicely in these deep colors! :D Jimmy's socks is going to be plain stockinette.
- - -
I went with my dad for the Volante campaign meeting... let's just say it was 'interesting' but in the end it worked out in our favor and jimmy's site is a go. :D
- - -
I am not 'getting ready' to start packing for Blizzcon. My clothes finished washing and I need to throw them in the dryer.
Every trip I go on I always get nervous and kinda 'not want' to go on my trip. Just because it is outside the comfort zone of my room and what I have around me... also the nervous-ness of not forgetting anything.
However, Blizzcon is going to be great. I know that. I think I am just tired and I always over think things when I am tired. Alex said we are pulling out of here (our house) at around 11am... which gives me plenty of time to wake up (I wake up at around 6am-7am) shower, finish packing (It's only 2 days worth of clothing, two shirts, jeans... and some accessories, simple).
I just enjoy staying home on weekends and chilling. *sigh*
I should get to bed... I am tired.

BEST MONTH EVER!
This was in the Lys email I got today! My first 'fiber festival' AT MY SCHOOL!! xDDDD This whole week is awesome too before it! OMG~ October rocks, seriously... yeah. What did I do to deserve to be so lucky! xDDD
Mark your calendar for Saturday October 18th -- The Ventura County Handweavers and Spinners Guild will hold their annual Open House and Sale on from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Studio Channel Islands on the beautiful campus of CSU Channel Islands. Several vendors – including Anacapa Fine Yarns – will be on hand with lots of yarn, books, notions, and more for spinners, weavers, knitters, crocheters, and other fiber artists. The Guild's annual Silent Auction will also be held that day, with a variety of items including yarn, weaving looms, and more. Bring your family and friends and join us for a day of fiber fun. See you there!
So yeah email... it's good stuff.
Then today, went to school, did homework. Ran into Jimmy and had lunch with him by surprise, pretty cool. Finished my blue wool sock via Magic Loop, pretty cool, exciting.
After that, I have to head to class... bleh. Another presentation... but do able... 20 minutes... that will be interesting. F is for fun! (our group is letter F, so that is our slogan).
So now I come to the library about to kill some time till Jimmy gets out and we head home at 4:30pm. But also plan on casting on Jimmy's sock (which is also blue, essential knit picks jay blue kettle dyed) via the ever so lovely magic loop.
I hop on Gmail to see if Jimmy is online to bug him in class... and I have several emails, one from school, one from the lys, one from Elle magazine, then something new: cosmic pluto knits... No way.
I open it and I WON~ XDDDD I was one of the lucky 3 that won one of her new copies of this awesome book~: (link to webpage win)
Which I remember viewing her blog last week and saw she was having this contest and thought hmm, I really liked the copy I saw at the book store on Sunday. Ah why not, might as well enter. So I enter and I am like 47 I think and am thinking "odds are pretty good, we will see".... then the comments get to 50 people... to finally I think about 192 people. O.o; So I give up hope and realize "I am not going to win, ah well, I will buy it later on." (After blizzcon of course hehe two more days!)
But I won~~~ xD I've never entered these blog entry contests or what not. So it is sooooooo exciting to win this newwwww and awesommeeeee book. I remember flipping through it for the first time and surprised in HOW MANY PHOTOS there were in it, then I realized 'Ohhhh teach yourself Visually~~... hahaha' I even grabbed Alex the next isle over (he was looking at Manga) and bragged to him in that I read this womens blog about knitting and she wrote this amazing knitting book, and it's socks! He thought that was cool and we went back to some other books. Even though I wanted to sit down and read and look through this entire book (all the pretty photos).
I guess it helps to read these blogs now! ;D I have to enter in more contests and stuff, I always skim over it. Yay Sock knitting! :D
I am so thrilled. This month has so far been amazing. Braces are off, Blizzcon, winning this, Thermos, everything. I hope I don't jinx myself and it goes away. I am just really happy and excited for the mail to come.

Sock's posing
She is very cute, isn't she. :D
Her eyes are such a pretty hint of green. It is a bummer that she had reddish/brown fur when we first found her, and it has turned into a deep brown with very subtle stripes. But she is still adorable overall... and a pain to sleep with at night. Every night she wakes me up wanting to 'cuddle' with my face and I have to keep pushing her away. Cute but oi a pain when I am tired.
- - -
I skipped science class today... because 1 there was a quiz I had no clue about, and did not want to take it and 2 there is some stuff I need to get done for psy (even though I could have finished it before class) lol. (Also for science, she dropps the two lowest scores... so I have two missed quizzes, and they will be dropped come grade time. So it works out)
- - -
This morning was nice~~~~~
This week they are promoting 'the ride share program' for school... in having a free $100 dollar gas card contest, and free goodies at the bus stop. Then they had a spinning instant prize paper thing.... and I snagged a paper and it was a free thermus! xDDDD Same type as the one my dad has (that I used, but I think I tweeked the seal >.>;) but it is a bit smaller (which is nice) and A PRETTY RED! XDDD
So I am thrilled. I also have a free bottle of water and some fruit snacks~ :D Great day to start the morning. :) That and looking at yarn/knitting stuff online, verses being in a boringgggg science class. lol (Also I am not too concerned of being 'behind' in this class... its simple material, and the tests/quizzes are not hard at all)
- - -
Oh other thrilling news~ BLIZZCON~~~~~ 3 DAYS AWAY!!! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!! xDDDDD
Oh and my knit picks order should be coming today, or tomorrow~~ xDDDDDD So exciting. I am going to figure out what size CO I need for Jimmy's foot, and cast on and see if I can figure out Magic Loop (which seems ideal for on the go knitting, no dpns lost or circs clicking, however I loveee those two methods too~ dpns = relaxing, circs = fun and exciting plus awesome trying on all the time)
- - -
I should get my paper done lol.

Harmony Love yet again
Another photo shoot with my sock knitting.
Today it was a nice cold day with some drizzle. So I stayed home and crashed a lot (ie naps) and then sat at my chair listening to knitting podcasts. In particular the Knit Picks pod cast. Kind of dull in listening, but it is good enough to keep me occupied while knitting. Also I don't feel 'alone' when I am listening to someone else talk. I got up to episode #6... they are already up to episode #65! Crazy. I guess I have some catching up to do.
I really like the pallette yarn. I took a nap today and my feet were cold and I wished I had put on my red socks that I had previously made with this yarn. But I was too tired to get up and slip them on. Heh.
Also the color is sooo pretty~ :D I love the deep blue, but then it has hints of a green which is just perfect.
I finished the leg, heel flap and turn, and am now working on the decreases for the foot. :) I always get excited for the heel flap and decrease parts~ I always have to do it in one sitting.
Back to some homework and sock knitting breaks. :)
Also my teeth look great. I will post a photo later. I have it on my flickr account, but will post it later. The retainer-o-fun is still taking some time to get use to. xD

Studying
All alllllloooonnneeeee.
This place usually has one or two other people in it... but not today... or at least the past mornings I've been here alone. This is an old photo, but it even applies to today.
Psy Sped Test today. U.U;
I just finished the Chapter 5 Focus Questions, I am not sure if they are due today... but better safe then sorry.
But the Test is for sure happening and he has not given us much information on it, so that makes me nervous (along with the other students that have run into me, saying the same thing).
I shouldn't blog too much. I need to go through his powerpoints and memorize all the stuff I need to know. Fun fun.
However, after today, I get to chill for the weekend... plus my braces come off tomorrow morning! :D Very happy about that. Hurray for Retainer-O-Fun.
- - -
Oh as for knitting. I am still knitting up the wool sock when I have a few minutes of free time.
Then I have been doing swatches!!!! Same yarn, same pattern, just not reaching 4 inches... it calls for a size 5.... too small... I use a size 6... too small.... size 7 this morning... too small! So tonight I am going to use a size 8. Lol. I am glad Iam doing this though, verses doing the whole thing and having it be too tiny lol. I am also taking photos with my camera of each swatch and a measuring tape, so that will be fun to see the differences later.

Hello Jay.
So yes, here is the last photo of my jaywalkers. Hence me keeping it home to finish the toe and what not.
- - -
Now onto the mopey student rant.
So did my English presentation, it went well. We had fun with it and we were the last group to go (people went wayyyy over 12 minutes) so everyone's brain was fried. We also had great reviews of it, that people enjoyed it and liked it. Which was fantastic (except for this one chick that needs to take the stick out of her, you know what and said we need to be 'professional' and blah blah blah, well with her presentation, they all stood next to each other, read her too detailed mess of an outline, and she never stopped talking, I learned nothing and honestly don't even remember it, so you know we got a better grade then her group did. Such a pain seriously.) But moving on~ lol
So classes are over with for the day. I was walking to the cafeteria for lunch.. yum lunch.
Then it hit me. Tomorrow is another day of classes.... TOMORROW~ I have my Special Education class... TOMORROW there is a major test.
I need to study for said test.... and booooooooo I kinda sorta pay attention in there, enough to have discussions about it, but have not memorized material to be tested on. Oi. u.u; totally killed the rest of my day.
But I have mac and cheese to munch on... >.>; I could have made better... this is bland. lol
Oh my~
Look what I casted on~
Another pair of socks! xD At least I did not buy more yarn lol... I have a great enough stash that I can now pull out pretty yarn and start knitting right away verses looking for new yarn.
This is part of my birthday yarn from Jimmy (I ordered, he gave me his credit card). It was all Knit Pick Palettes, so this color is Marine Heather. It looks super pretty~ (plus it has such an awesome name I think ;p) lol.
Those are my Knit picks 2.75mm needles too~ ;D I like the 6 in length~. I finished the cuff and just started a few rows on the leg. It is going to be a regular stockinette sock pattern I've done a million times. I actually made copies of my pattern, with my notes on it, because... that pattern paper has been worn out to no end. Hehe. ^^*
The Jaywalkers are not destined to be at home socks, until I finish the toe. I do not want to go toooo far in knitting the foot and forget about the foot length. So these new socks are simple, easy, whip out and start knitting like mad, at school/purse socks. ;D I however am excited to start the next jaywalker too.
Ok now I should log off and start working on my English Homework that is due today... and plan for the group presentation. I have till noon, but better now then later. ;D
Monday, September 29, 2008
Monday Monday Monday.
So... I did receive the yarn I ordered. It wasn't as pretty as I hoped in the hank; however, it is sooo pretty wound up. xD I hand wound it into a skein (I missed the debates because of it lol) that night and I love it. This will be my first time using superwash and bamboo. It has such nice colors~ I am pleased.
That is Socks enjoying the attention outside. This is taken on my phone. Alex and I went out and got him a new camera (Cannon 1100 something, light blue) at work. Which means that his older camera is now completely mine! xD 3.2 mp but it works well for me~ The macro is nice~ ;D So I need to start using that camera more often. (heh, It's been in my room for months though, lol but now it is 'mine')
This camera situation works out well because when we go to Blizzcon in 2 and a half weeks, we will each have our own camera for the event. ;D Then with my braces being off by thursday, I am totally going to be smiling like crazy~ xD
School is never ending. I just want a break already... and it has only been a month into it. I am just so tired too, I want to go take a nap really when I get home and do work later or what have you. I especially do not want to do a power point presentation right now and have it be a group presentation either, because then I have to work with people and get them ready to do it, verses me just doing it all at once and be done with it. Ugh.
I am so stiff right now too, I blame Socks. She kept me up for 2 hours last night running around my room and getting into things around my room that I couldn't sleep. Till I got sick of it and threw her out of my room and closed the door.
I have about a half an hour till I get to see Jimmy and cuddle with him. He makes me feel better. <3 I am going to snoop around Ravelry now. Bye.

Falling for Ewe Autumn Yarn Swap
What meals or food means 'Fall' for you?
To me, that's a simple answer. Pumpkin bread.
My mom is infamous for her pumpkin bread in both sides of my family. Every time my mother goes to visit her family, they alwaysssss ask if she bought pumpkin bread and which one they could have. So she always brings plenty. So Thanksgiving and Christmas we make a ton of pumpkin bread and ever since I was little I would be the walnut grinder (with this funky device) for all these batches. Now it is just a waiting game as to when my Mom will start baking these and I will get recruited to grind the lovely walnuts (which honestly I don't even like them in the bread). xP
- - -
Now time for TONS of homework. I swear these teachers never quit! Oi

Argh... frustration
Lol... not really. I look angry in that picture don't I. xD
It was really bright and the sun was in my eyes... I was having dinner with my parents at Panda Express *yum* and got bored while they were talking.
- - -
I think I will be getting that yarn package today... it is less then an hour away and it 'left' the office this morning. So hopefully. I cannot wait to see it.
- - -
I finally have the Knit picks return packaged and ready to get sent out. I am going to the post office later when we take Socks to the vet for her appointment. I think she is due with her last set (3 total) of shots.
- - -
I also may have a few things to send out in regards to last swap people~ ;D <3 Then I need to finish packing up this swaps gifts and send them out also. I have enough stuff for 2 months so I just need to organize it all. :)
- - -
Frustration... is my homework. I am procrastinating right now in blogging (before it was playing WoW) in doing my health homework. Boo. However, this stuff is stupidly easy... and I don't know why I just do not finish it. It is always the hardest part for me to just get it started.
- - -
Braces off in less then a week (6 days).... and Blizzcon is in less then 3 weeks. Hurray! :D
I guess I should start writing, the sooner I get this done with I can then start playing wow and knitting~ xD
Wednesday, September 24, 2008
Summer of Yarn Love Swap is now over.
But I also had tons of fun with the sending out packages. Also luckly my swap partner took beautiful photos of my packages to her. xD So here they are, my blog always can use more knitting related photos. If you click the photos, they will send you to the blog entry she posted with details of each item! :)
I just think they all look soooo pretty~ (also I may be a bit biased since I sent them to her! ;P) lol.
But the Summer of Yarn Love was great... and I think that the Fall one shall be no exception! <3
- - -
Reality note.
School has been owning me... badly. But it's nothing I cannot recover from. :) Oh and Mister Diet Coke and I are madly in <3>.>; where my stomach hurts lol (yeah I know too much information lol, but not the gross nasty gas lol) bye
