edumacation hurray

I got them...

Took forever~... I've been checking at least twice each day for the past week.

Kinda what I expected... but a bit different. Better, if not bad, I dunno.

So~ Let me think... what classes got what.

Oh it's just easier to copy and paste:

My Grade Report > Spring 2008 > Undergraduate > Channel Islands
Course Class Name Official Grade
COMP  101 COMPUTER LITERACY B-
ENGL  315 INTRO TO LANGUAGE, STRUCTURE A
HIST  369 CALIFORNIA HISTORY AND CULTURE A-
MATH  308 MODERN MATH FOR ELEM TCHRS B

Wow that is big text. What is great that the grades were not exactly what I had thought I would earn (granted it is about the same as I thought... I was thinking 3 A's and a C.... but 2 A's and 2 B's are equal to each other). This semester did not lower my cumulative gpa too much~! :D It was a 3.588 last semester... now it is a 3.508... which is fine! :D So I am not needing to stress about Gama Beta Phi~

I saw Indiana Jones with my parents and Jimmy (who also got awesome grades! xD) last night. Whatever people say about it. I Liked It! :P It is more of just a play with the story of the awesome Indiana Jones series. So I had fun. We all got icecream~ went to micheals! xD I bought this thing~

It's a yarn holder/case/sock knitting! :D I love it~ (I added the pin of course, from ravelry) It is so awesome!

*hint hint, that's a new sock I started today.... meaning I finished one. amazing isn't. ;p It is one of the yarns that Jimmy bought me! :D*

However, the pattern that the Yarn Traveler is sitting on is a shawl for my mom~ She's been wanting one~ :D This is what it looks like thus far.

Oh and I bought this book today! :D

Me addicted?! Oh you're so funny~ ;p I am just a 'fan' of knitting lol.

That's it~

Yay! Book! :D

Hurray!!! <3 the Borders Coupons~

I bought a knitting book! ^^* Oh this book is great it is a hugeeee amount of information about knitting, yarn, plys, ah and I know that is only a small portion of it~ I've only flipped through it a few times~ ^^* (and it has 40 patterns oi!)

The Knitter's Book of Yarn: The Ultimate Guide to Choosing, Using, and Enjoying Yarn
by Clara Parkes!

xD I've flipped through ravelry and noticed how great some of these patterns are (since the book is so huge I had not seen all the patterns at the store. :D

Oh it's pretty... and oh I cannot wait to read through it this summer! ^^* I saved like ten bucks off of it with my borders coupon~ ^^* They can text coupons via your phone now... how crazy is that~ hehe.

^^* Then I went with my dad to get him a new office chair. His old chair hates him and wishes massive pain on his back. (angsty chair) So we got him this niceeee chair and he did research and checked reviews on it online. Very nice chair~ Next upgrade for his office will eventually be his desk, but it suits him fine right now. :) I am glad he is thinking more of himself to improve the quality of his items for work. His joke was 'I can spend $500 on a cat no problem(Faye got the bad end of a fight and it came out to over $500), but I cannot spend $300 on myself without worrying about it.' He is working on that now~ Good for my daddy~ He has taken some doans and is relaxing on the couch.

So tomorrow, thursday is stnb. It will be fun. I want to finish knitting my sock asap, but I want to knit it at coffee bean. I want to go to lys.

and no lj cut! you must look! :P

A close up of my fingerless gloves~ Oh they are so pretty and soft. Then a shot of my Ravelry logo pin! <33333 They match so well! Malabrigo yum~ :)

Then Faye likes her some Malabrigo yarn~ nom nom nom... she actually chewed on that for awhile~ till I finally pulled it away from her, it was cute.

Then finally Duo chilling on her 'flat' cat bed. The sides pop up, but she always pushes them down, ah well. She likes it though~ :D

Time for bed! ^^*

I am torn

I haven't been using blogger that much lately... as can be seen by my few entries~

I have been using ravelry a ton~~~ since I signed up for it and got the idea of blogger after seeing all these knitting blogs on blogger.

But I mostly write in my livejournal
http://hsailormoon.livejournal.com/

about stuff... and I don't post much on knitting there (other then the ocasional side note of my <3 for knitting).

I need to take more photos etc of my current knitting to put on here, but also put up on ravelry! Gosh I love ravelry, it makes things so much easier! :D
Look what I got!!! xDDDDDDD

Tofutsies!!!! xDDD
Colorway 722 xD

and~~~ those knitting needles... they are bryspun dpns~ xD

xDDD I was out doing errands with my dad and asked if we could stop by our local yarn store~~~ xDDDDD So we did~~~ xDDDD

So I picked out these~~ the needles are great they are bendable enough but are not cheapy and going to break. (that and I did not want the bamboo needles, I avoid those on dpns, circs are fine) xDDDD

The yarn is SOOOOO PRETTY~ OMG!

I have some other cutesy photos of it, doing a gauge swatch and starting my sock on the needles... but I can't upload them right now. ...
Reason being... Alex and Mora (his friend) are playing WoW and I 'cannot' upload anything right now. Three computers on the wifi is making it 'lag' booo. Oh well~ something else to post tonight! xDDDDDDDD <3333333333333

This yarn is soooo cute!

Ok time to keep knitting~~ :D Jimmy is going to come get me soon~ ^^* YAY YARN! :DDDDDD

Now I am at Jimmy's... and I can upload away~

While he works on his project like the good student he is~ xD <3

So here is a gauge swatch that I did... it is only little more then a one inch by one inch. 10 stitches.

:D It should be like this with a size one needle... but I knit tightly apparently~ ^^; So I upped the knitting to size twos~ <3333

Then the pretty pictures~ xD

and my favorite swatch photo~

Then what I started before I left the house <33333 on top of my lap top~

<3 the knitting~ :D

I rarely have a place where I can just blog just to write stuff down... without being concerned of whom reads it.

I have several 'friends' that I do not wish for them to read certain things... that could get me into trouble.

My swap partner got her stuff and she loves it... I am so excited about it.

I want to finish this sock asap... so I could start another one... and another pattern... but then I have this book that I am with in livejournal that I want to finish reading~.

Never enough time... but I just get tired too.

Library = Whoa

So our school's new library is finally open... IT IS AMAZING! Seriously.

I think one of my favorite cute things are the half spheres on the round tables, that are outlets~ xD I am using it right now... very clever.

The library is fantastic~ Very impressive.

So what is going on with me kinda sorta...

So my knitting partner wanted legwarmers... and I thought 'oh that's easy~~ I can do that'... pshhh not really. If I do not have her legs here and try them on from time to time (especially if she wanted them tight on the top and losser on the bottom... ) I can't make it confindently enough to give to her... so I knit her a 'shawl' that she had made recently and loved (but was a swap gift for her other thing) but 'did not have the patience to make another one' but she liked it. So I threw it together and made it for her. I do however have one mistake in it... I need to look at it later in better lighting to figure out what I did wrong. But regardless it is done.

I am also knitting up a dishcloth or two for her package that are pretty... but the cotton yarn is PERFECT in holding water and staying cool, so when it gets hot in texas, she can get them wet and put then on her forehead/neck to keep cool. Or whatever she wants to do with them... that is what I am doing with mine ( the ones that had mistake here and there).

I am going to start doing my english flashcards.. I bought the blank ones with me today to do them.

Hehe, I was going to go to this coffee shop in Camarillo today, and do stuff since I have so much free time... now I am staying here on campus. <3 this library

I am leaving.

I am quiting/leaving Best Buy... after 2 and a half years being there. It is just not worth it to me anymore to stay. I've been saying for months that I could 'picture myself leaving' ... and now I am just getting irritated with work and being treated like I am a slacker and a poor employee... when I am not! So then it hit me, why on earth am I putting up with this then?

My job as a Sales Operator, I sit and wait for calls to come and I answer them to my best ability with out having them get transfered. Corporate wide they had the worst complaints about the phone service at Best Buys, thus creating my position, hence needing to know the whole store rather well. I was picked and asked for this job when it was created... because I knew my stuff.

The job has been great, we have paper work to do etc too... but then we all have figured out that we can do it all weeks in advance (due to schedules being out) etc. So then our paperwork has decreased and the SO's (there are 3 of us, but we technically need 4) have been trying to do other stuff to keep us occupied because there are times where there are nooooo calls whatsoever.

Well apparently I have been getting myself in trouble now... and being viewed as a slacker yada yada. Ok no calls, lets do a sudoku puzzle.... I have to sit here and do nothing, but wait, and I cannot talk to other employees because then we are 'not working' and crap like that. Then my Senior comes and says 'No games Heather blah blah blah' ... ok fine... no sudoku, I will live.

Then I decide to read stuff and sit here. I can't pull out a book... and I don't want to read the corporate created forums for employees... because half of it is them complaining about something or another about their jobs. So I will hop on WoWWiki and read the WoW Lore. No big deal~ I sit here, read.... something actually interesting... and when a phone rings, I am straight back to work! TaDa! Solution~

Well apparently my Senior asked a manager to 'keep an eye on me' or what not... and he comes to me with a printed copy of the document I had just read and tells me 'Heather, we can't have you reading this stuff at work, we need you doing work things' blah blah blah. I am annoyed at this point. This manager asked me for this position, and I have been doing it with no problems what so ever.... and I do my job.... and when they want me to wait and stay at my desk.... and everything is completed and then some! I get nagged at.

Yeah sure I wasn't working.... I am not ignoring that.... but what else do they expect! I am not texting, I am not on my phone (like most of them are a lot of the time), I am not distracting other employees etc. It is just so irritating... and I have been not wanting to come into work for the longest time, but I still do. So I give up... and it is time for me to move on already.

So I am leaving, I am going to give my two weeks notice to my store manager this week... but I will let him know what is going on at the SO desk, and that they need to give us something to do on the clock... because that is their job, to manage all the employees... and utilize us... and I am getting myself into 'trouble' over pointless stuff... when I am keeping myself occupied when they are not. Also I am being nagged like I am a new hire. I am sorry, I've been working at this store for years, I don't need this.

So I am going to take a break from working as a whole for awhile... and just get a break. I've been too tired lately no matter what I try to do to sleep more often. I have been exhausted, because I get no days off... school monday through thursday and then work friday to sunday.

I am going to take summer school at OC and then I may get a job at Sylvan Learning Center, by where I live.... and they seemed excited to have me interested in applying, she threw an application at me when I had just introduced myself lol. But then hopefully an IT job at CSUCI will open up for the semester in fall, because I would love to work on campus doing the computer moniter job for the new library, but it was full when I asked about it. Boo.

I will be able to go out with Jimmy and my friends now finally too~ where I will not have work to contend with. It's a perk, but not the reason why I am leaving. Also the job was never about money either... so it is not a loss if I don't work right now. Which is fine.

I am just hoping that these two weeks will go by quickly.

Good Morning World

I am happy and excited.... I get to go to the movies today with Jimmy, after work.

We are going to watch The Other Boylen Girl. He likes Natilie Portman and I like the chick flicks... so it's a win win~ ;)

I finished my sock. I gave up in trying to knit it as a proper finishing rows etc. The pattern I have uses 5 dpns, I use 4 dpns. So it got rather confusing with certain numbers on Needles 1-4... so I gave up and decreased it at what I could 'remember' correctly as a friend of mine was talking to me. So the toe is not even a proper closing. But I knew it was going to be a bit small... so I decided awhile ago that it would be a stuffed cat toy. It looks good completed.

I am just now in quest for a 4 dpn written pattern, I could figure it out technically, but I do not want to. ;p

I have work in an hour and a half... boo... I do get coffee this morning, (that is what I do to treat myself when I go to work early, lol it gets me out the door earlier too).

Today is March, the semester is coming closer and closer to a finish. If I do not get all A's in the remainder of my classes (I have a lame C in comp 101, I tested out, I did not want to take the class what so ever). I will not maintain the 3.45 gpa I need to be an active member for Gama Beta Phi. I am nervous about that. I hope I can get all A's.... I will take summer school too... so that will be another few units and grades to add and hopefully increase the gpa, back to above 3.45. I have one semester to bring it back up. So I get a lower gpa this semester, (spring), I have a chance to increase it a bit during the summer (which they do not think of as a semestery)... and I have fall 08 to also work on brining the gpa back up. I would just be 'inactive' but that doesnt mean anything.... I still do the same stuff and am still on all the lists as a member and what not. But I do not like it.

Here I thought I got over the gpa stress already... when I decided to take the C in the comp class... and that was so stressful because, I came to the conclusion that the gpa does not matter anymore (not since high school) other then having a 2.0 or higher. But then this stupid letter comes along.... ugh. I almost kinda sorta wish it did not come in my school email. It's a nice thing to be a part of and a nice thing to throw on a resume type of thing.... it is an honors society... but honestly. I don't know this college thing rarely makes sense. I need to start looking into my credential classes next semester I think. >.>; I am nervous about student teaching coming up too.

Growing up man... it is some weird stuff... yet I feel like I just left high school... kinda... but not really, but lord knows I do not want to go back, that is one thing for sure.

Sock update

So the sock that I am knitting is coming along great. However my one worry is that it is a bit too small... because there were two sizes.... regular and large... and the large was for 'curvy-er' feet it said. So I thought instantly ok cankles! I don't have cankles~.... I have small ankles etc. So then I am knitting it and I didn't consider that I have angle-ier feet, I have a high arch in my foot.... so when I finish this, I will find out how it is. If not, I have learned tons in knitting this sock, I doubt I will un ravel it. This is a perfect test sock... heck I can even felt it (since it is wool) and make it a cat toy for my cats to attack or something. :D

My mother wants me to knit her a pair of socks for her to wear around the house, because her feet and my feet are always cold. But then when I think about that, even my Aunt Jennie's feet are cold, I can knit her a pair of socks like that too for her to sleep in with.

:D I <3 knitting socks, and I cannot wait to pick up the Liza Souza yarn in the Lime and Violet color way and the Violets Pink ribbon.
http://www.lisaknit.com/yarn/animalfibers/sock.html

I am totally going to get it in the four ply fingering weight, I think it is Sock Merenio. I am so excited.

I also need to finish my clapotie for my Farmor.... which is ok, it is good car knitting... but so is my sock~ ;p lol Such a conflict~.

I need to finish my college swap partner's stuff. I am going to knit her legwarmers (she said she wanted those)... I am just trying to figure out what type of yarn to use for it... Wool for the elasticity.... or Wool-ease/mix so it can be washable, but would it lose all its elasticity?! I don't know, I need to look into it. I could possibly do some round swatches because I have some left over yarn in both of those type of yarns.

Iam in total Sock Knitting Heaven! :o I can totaly see why people love knitting these things! I cannot wait to finish my first pair! :D

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

Wow this is lame. I cannot sleep. :L This is what happens when I go to sleep early, like 7pm. But Iam too tired to do anything like read or knit.

So far so good.

So, I am in a knitting college swap thing on ravelry... and my partner is a Junior at Texas Tech. She is cool.

So when it comes to knit something, I am not sure what to knit for her. She likes cables, lace, and light ocean type blue. Which is fine, I can do both. I am a very good knitter, I just do not get a chance to show it off as much.

I did decide that Iam going to knit a light blue dishcloth.... and embroider in ravelry on it. :D Just for the cute factor. I made one dishcloth and it is nice but there were 1 or 2 mistakes so I am keeping it (and it was black) for myself and maker her a better one. It was my test dishcloth and I finished it in one night! :D Instant gratification~~~

Then I found the Molly Headband pattern from interweave knits online... and I made one and finished it yesterday. (took about a day total I started late at night) Where it is super cute, but I made one noticeable mistake and the last part of the lace I messed up, where it is not to the chart lace but you wouldn't notice the difference. So I am going to keep the lace headband for myself.... and make her another one. :D

So two items, where I have extra yarn.... and they are about a day project each... which is great. I seriously need the instant gratification projects right now. My Roam sweater has been sleeping next to my desk for months now (due to holiday knitting). I am also working on my grandmother's claptois which of course is a forever time consuming project.

I need to go take a shower and get ready for work. I go in at 9:30 and am leaving early.

I do get a cup of coffee this morning though! :D

Also it is my friends birthday dinner today (it is a surprise shhhhhhhhh ;D) I rarely see him, and granted there will be several people there tonight, I won't be demanding his attention, but I want to let him know that he has friends that care~ ^^* He needs change and that is always the topic we talk about, even if we chit chat for a few minutes. He really isn't getting any that are beneficial to him (but nothing terrible either btw).... but I hope he gets some changes he needs and wants this year. He is a great guy~~~ and totally deserves it.

I really do not want to go to work today... for eight hours.. I could probably finish those two projects if I sat down for those eight hours and did nothing but knitting! :( boo.

Eventually

I will eventually start using this blog... blog spot confuses me.

However, I will be taking photos of all the scarves I have finished plus my knitted bag.... my current project/claptios, and then the dishcloths I am working on, (I finished a test one)... and the lacey headband. ;D

I've been knitting a lot~ and I still want more yarn!!! :D
