Test

Hmm

I've tried to post here via my cell phone every so often. But apparently that stopped working and I was getting error messages sent back to my phone.

Well we did get the Volvo, oh and it is fantastic. It is in such great condition, we've had to put about $500-$700 dollars into it, but it was good timing because my financial aid (left over) has covered a lot of the costs. I am happy that we have a third vehicle and that it is such a great car (or station wagon ;D) It just looks so pretty. I cannot wait to get my license and drive it around and go places with it with Jimmy.

School has started... I finished my first week yesterday, but am on campus today for kicks. I am really suppose to be working, and I most likely will... later on. This is the first time that my classes are so dependent on text books, so I am patiently waiting for them to come in the mail. I even paid extra for the faster shipping on all of my books. I've saved about $143 dollars in buying them online on Amazon.com... but have spent about $220 overall. I just hate how they keep coming out with 'new' editions each and every year, they are first off very expensive with a new edition (ie 08) and then you cannot sell back your book when they come out with a new one. But buying them online is helping and I am not buying my Psy 345 class book, and am going to use the text book at the library to work on homeworks or reading. I am not wanting to spend another hundred dollars (it just came out with a new edition).

My classes are going to be interesting. An Education degree... is seriously no joke. People would tease me at the 'difficulty' of child lit, or childrens music classes... but my Engl 347 (Reading in social context) course... oh my goodness is intense. Then the Psy 345(Individual Disability Psy) is going to be complicated. It really makes me think back in highschool and having new teachers (just graduated) and am now realizing what hard work they've had to go through. It's impressive... and I am going through it, which is a trip on it's own. I am going to be one of those teachers. Then me wanting to be a teacher, and realizing how accomplished my college professors are... holy sh*t batman.... talk about amazing! I am like apspiring to be like them, it's insane. I love it. I am finally taking courses that are really making my end goal seem more like a reality and that it is coming up! Thus far my classes... General Ed, it's all be a sinch and I haven't really tried hard in most of them. But now, this is going to be a challenge and will require more work overall and not just on one or two papers. Iam excited about this semester, just remind me that come a month or two into it and I will be whining about it. ;)

On the knitting aspect of this blog. I've been trying to use up 'stash' yarn... like the acrylic yarn my mom has bought me in bulk at thrift stores. There is a lot of it, but I am also working on charity items with it, like I am single crocheting cat blankets for an animal shelter in San Fran. I've done two already and am working on the third. It is great because this crocheting goes fast, but also uses yarn up asap and is easy to throw in a purse, no needles to lose or falling stitches.

I have missed my sock knitting. I cannot wait to use up the sock yarn I already have. I am especially excited to get to the sock yarn my swap partner gave me this last month. I have that yarn in a skein and everything waiting... I am excited to see what it turns into.

I also have my Roam Jacket to finish, I need more yarn to finish the sleeves. I am not going to do a hood on it... but finishing and assembling... that is going to be a lot of work... but eventually I will have it done and wear it. One of these days. I also want to do like a round baby blanket, I have a friend that just had a baby boy and I want to make her a blanket. There is a pattern in Knit Simple that I would like to do something like that. :)

I want to see about subscribing to that magazine. I am hoping on going to Barnes n Noble with Jimmy on Friday, tomorrow, and read magazines. Like Vogue knitting... I loveeee the articles... but the patterns, pshhhh none of those will ever fit me and my 48 in boobies~ ;D lol. Nor do I feel like changing the pattern.

:) A highlight for the day... a thermus full of yummy french vanilla coffee (from a coffee vending machine yummy and cheap). This is the first time I've taken my dad's Edison Thermus and used it for school. I bought a large cup of coffee for like $1.30 and it is the perfect size for the thermus, and I neeeevvveerrr finish a large even at times medium cup of coffee before the rest of it gets cold and ucky. Here I have a nice small cup (cap) to fill and have nice hot coffee and I can shake it so the flavor does not rest at the bottom. Genius~ ;D

I think I will start my english work. I've already watched 2 Episodes of Ranarok Anime ;D

Falling for Ewe Autumn Yarn Swap Q/A

  1. Do you knit or crochet? Knitting for a majority. But I have done some single crochet work once and a blue moon. How long have you been at your craft? I learned how to knit and crochet when I was about 7 years old from my grandmother, and it's been on and off for several years. But lately I've been majorly into it for about 3-4 years. :) (ie increasing my yarn stash lol)
  2. Do you spin? What type of spinning do you do? No, I know to avoid crack when I see it. ;) I would love too, but I know I do not have the time or funds to start. But getting a spinning wheel and such when I get my own place and settled would be nice, but years from now.
  3. Are there any other crafts that you participate in? Does World of Warcraft count?! ;P I like cross stitching and some basic sewing (the machine is still big for me lol)
  4. What are your favorite yarns/fibers? Right now superwash sock yarn is awesome. Wool is nice, Silk, Cotton, I like mixtures too.
  5. What are your LEAST favorite yarns/fibers? Mohair, I itch, but nothing major it just gets everywhere, Alpaca is ok, soft, but I would only prefer a small content of it. Oh and scruffy acrylic yarn. Like Lion Brand homespun yarn... ugh terrible and rough, but I am ok with typical acrylic yarns too, like Caron has lovely stuff and some lion brand. Soft and smooth is key lol.
  6. Are there any types/brands of yarn that you are dying to work with but haven’t gotten a chance? Oh tons~ Socks that Rock, Cherry Tree Hill, Lisa Souza yarn, Fleece Artist, All Things Heather, Wolemiser, etc. :D
  7. What are your favorite types of projects to knit/crochet? At the moment it is socks socks socks. But I am enjoying finishing up a sweater. I like to make things purposeful really, so I try to figure stuff out like that. Right now some charity stuff has been fun. I always want my knitting to have a meaning, verses just something to get thrown in the back of the closet.
  8. What are you currently working on? Socks, the Knitty Roam sweater, and charity squares and pet blankets. Anything you plan to start this autumn? More socks hehe, but I have been dying for a shrug or the 'boob holder'. lol Eventually. Or even those loose shrugs/shawls are nice too, so maybe.
  9. What is your favorite FO? I think Square Cakes (on my ravelry) was fun and the fingerless gloves too. They came out cute.
  10. What is your oldest UFO? Oh gosh. I would have to say the Roam sweater, it was from last summer when the issue came out.
  11. Are their any knitting/crochet techniques that you would like to learn? I think circular knitting for socks knitting would be fun(one circular needle too, magic loop right?). I would like to do toe up socks eventually maybe.
  12. Are you a sock knitter? xD Of course! What are your foot measurements? Oh god I have no clue, I've tried to figure it out, usually the mediums work with my feet, but they are long I have a US 11 size foot.
  13. Do you have a yarn winder and/or a swift? No~ big investment. I still wrap up yarn into a skein with a big knitting needle in the middle. Fun but oh my god the tangles. Eventually, one day it would be wonderful to have them.
  14. Where/how to you keep you needles/hooks? In a shoe box size tub on the shelf, messy but alright. I did however get a hard case straight needle holder, so I am working into getting my straight needles into there, that are important for me to keep care of.
  15. Do you collect anything? Trying to collect more yarn. ;) Books of course too lol. I really honestly don't have a true collection, I just think I love small cute things more then anything else, vauge I know but thats the best I can muster.
  16. What is your favorite type of music? Indie, Pop, Rock, Alternative, World Music, Classical, Electronic, J-Pop, Dance, etc. Not big on the Country, sad but true. Are you MP3 ready? I put music on my cell phone, but I download torrents most of the time. I do not use I-tunes, I dislike Ipods and Itunes, too much money for an ok product. (I sold Ipods and mp3 players for about 2 years)
  17. Do you like sweets? <333333> What are your favorites? Gummies! Twizzlers PullnPeel (fave), Gummie Bears, Licorish, Jelly Beans (not the fancy kind, I forget the brand), Milk Chocolate is nice too~, peanut butter, lol But Gummies are an all time fave lol
  18. What is your living situation like? At home with the parents and older brother. Any pets? You mean other parts of the family right?! ;p I have 3 cats, Duo, Faye (both black females), and Ami (a kitten brown with white) and the chickens that rule our yard... yes chickents, roosters, hens, chicks the whole nine yards, and yes we collect eggs. We haven't bought eggs since last year. Children? Other then the cats, none and keeping it that way~ ;D Too young lol.
  19. Are you allergic to anything? I would say be weary of the mohair type stuff... I am allergic to the cats fur (my eyes get irritated and I do sneeze, they are short hair cats though) nothing that sheds lol preferably.
  20. Do you have an online wish list (Amazon, Etsy, Loopy Ewe, etc.)? Please include links for your swap pal. Of course~ Amazon wishlist: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/1NN5MW6PC7G6K
  21. Loopy Ewe: http://www.theloopyewe.com/wishlist/show/19667/?token=02a9ed77cb3a
  22. Are you having a birthday during this swap? Nope my birthday is in May.
  23. What is your Ravelry ID? HSailorMoon
